About Hurghada News

Hurghada News is an independent English-language news and guide platform covering Egypt’s Red Sea coast — from El Gouna and Hurghada down through Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi, Soma Bay and Safaga to El Quseir and Marsa Alam.

We cover what actually matters to the people who live, work, invest and holiday here: local news and breaking updates, new openings and closures, events, business and development, travel, the marine environment, and community life.

Our aim is to be practical, fast and credible — a clear source of what’s happening on the coast, in plain English. We are not affiliated with any government body, developer or tour operator.

How we report

Most of our news begins with the local and national outlets that cover this coast, official statements from the Red Sea Governorate and its authorities, and tips from readers. Every article names its sources at the foot of the page, with a link to the original report wherever one is public.

We attribute what we publish, and we date it. Where a story rests on a single source, we say so rather than presenting it as settled; figures and claims are checked against the original before they run. A story we cannot stand up, we hold.

We protect the people who send us tips: submitter names, private messages and screenshots stay with us and never appear on the page. We publish only photographs we can properly licence and attribute. And we take no payment to cover, place or bury a story — see our funding and affiliate disclosure.

The German edition

Germans and Austrians are among the largest visitor groups on this coast, so the guide, the directory and the events calendar are published in German as well as English — written in German rather than run through a machine. Our news reporting remains in English for now.

Tips and corrections

Much of the best local news starts with a tip. If you’ve seen something worth covering, send it to us — we keep submitter names and contact details private. If we get something wrong, we want to fix it: see our corrections policy.
