Corrections

We work to get things right the first time, and we move quickly to fix them when we don’t. Accuracy matters more than being first.

Our policy

When we learn that something we’ve published is inaccurate, we correct it promptly. Significant corrections — ones that change the substance of a story — are noted on the article so the record is transparent. Minor fixes (typos, formatting) are made without a note.

Unverified claims are labelled as such and are not presented as established fact, particularly where a named person or business is involved.
