The Roads Authority has repaired a break in the carriageway on the Ras Ghareb–Zafarana road, at the gate of the General Company, after a complaint about the damage circulated on a social media page, the Red Sea governorate said.

The page had posted an appeal about the break and called for quick intervention before it caused accidents that could threaten the safety of drivers and other road users. The Roads Authority then moved and carried out the repair work.

Red Sea Governor Walid El-Barqi, who had been following up on residents' reports about the state of the roads, praised the speed of the authority's response. He said observations from residents — particularly those concerning their safety on the road — should be dealt with immediately, and that field monitoring should continue so that defects are fixed before they cause accidents rather than after.

The road links Ras Ghareb with Zafarana along the Gulf of Suez coast, north of Hurghada.

The governorate's account does not say when the repair was carried out or how long the stretch had been damaged.
