A Direct Flight Links Hurghada and Mombasa From 26 December, Twice a Week
Air Cairo is due to open a non-stop Mombasa–Hurghada service on 26 December, flying twice a week with an Embraer 190 and taking Kenya's coast off the Cairo and Nairobi detour, according to the Kenya Association of Travel Agents.

Air Cairo is due to start flying directly between Mombasa and Hurghada in late December, opening an air link between Kenya's coast and Egypt's Red Sea with no change in Nairobi or Cairo, according to the Kenya Association of Travel Agents.
The carrier's flight SM734 is scheduled to make its first Mombasa–Hurghada run on 26 December 2026, with the return leg operating as SM733. Current timetables show two services a week around the launch, flown by an Embraer 190, with a journey time of about five hours between Moi International Airport and Hurghada International Airport.
KATA says the city pair is already bookable through Air Cairo's own sales channels, which it reads as a sign the route has moved past a provisional schedule listing. It notes that 27 December also appears as an operating date under the current timetable, and that times, frequencies and fares can still change before the launch.
Air Cairo already flies in the region, including connections involving Nairobi and Zanzibar, and the trade body places the Mombasa service within a wider build-out of links between Egypt and East Africa.
For Hurghada the addition is small in capacity terms — two services a week on an Embraer 190 — but it opens a market that until now reached the Red Sea through Cairo or Nairobi, and gives tour operators at both ends a direct pairing to build itineraries around. It also starts in the week after Christmas, at the top of the winter season, when Hurghada airport is already expecting 100 to 120 flights a day.
