Youm7 has published the list of school building works now under way across the Red Sea Governorate, naming projects in El Quseir, Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Shalateen.

In El Quseir the list includes an Egyptian-Japanese school, a partial rebuild of El Quseir Preparatory School and an extension to Mostafa Habib Primary School.

The other towns on the list:

  • Hurghada — construction of Al-Saqala Official Language School, an extension to Hurghada Girls' Industrial Secondary School, and a partial rebuild at a third school
  • Marsa Alam — construction of Marsa Alam Official Language School
  • Shalateen, in the far south — extensions at Sadat Primary School and at the Adly Mansour basic-education school, and a new Abraq Primary School

The works are aimed at upgrading school buildings and adding classrooms, Youm7 reports, to raise capacity in line with what the governorate's different areas need.

The Japanese tie-in is not isolated: this site reported on 4 October that 100 Red Sea nursery staff had been trained in a Japanese play-based teaching method, including early disability screening.

What the report does not give is as notable as what it does. There are no costs, no contractors, no completion dates and no classroom or pupil numbers for any of the schools named. For parents on the coast, the list is the clearest public indication yet of where capacity is being added — but it says nothing about when any of it opens.

Reported by Youm7 (اليوم السابع) on 10 October 2026, as a governorate list of education projects under way. The reference to Japanese-method nursery training is from this site's own earlier coverage. One Hurghada school on Youm7's list is not named here because its name could not be transliterated with confidence.
