South Hurghada district has a new chief. Ayman Sultan was in his second day in the post on Monday, when Sada El-Balad reported him going through the district's departments and sections to see how they work and how quickly residents' requests are being dealt with.
Sultan told staff to check and clear the requests and complaints reaching the district through three routes:
- the Cabinet's complaints system
- the Ministry of Local Development's complaints system
- applications handed in directly at the district, including residents' service requests and requests from buildings' occupants' associations
Each request should be tracked until it is closed, he said, and complaints should be answered promptly rather than left open.
Sultan also inspected the district's technology centre, which handles e-government services, to check that services were running without interruption and to hear from staff about what is holding them up.
The report does not say whether any of the district's procedures, opening hours or contact arrangements are changing.
