Electricity was cut to parts of Hurghada's Al-Kawthar district after a fault on an electrical cable, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm.
Sada El-Balad reported the same outage, describing a fault in an electricity cable that cut supply to a sector of Al-Kawthar. Both reports were carried on 3 September, and both attribute the cut to a sudden technical fault rather than to scheduled maintenance or load-shedding.

Al-Kawthar is one of Hurghada's larger residential districts, set back from the hotel strip, and its population is overwhelmingly Egyptian residents rather than visitors. The cut follows reporting this site carried on repeated power cuts and voltage swings in three Hurghada neighbourhoods, which residents said were damaging household appliances.
