The ninth El Gouna Film Festival closed on Friday, nine days after it opened on 15 October, Sada El-Balad reported.
The edition brought 77 films to El Gouna across its competitions and programmes, according to the outlet's Arabic report. Its English service, See News, put the number of films screened at around 70.
The festival ran three official competitions — for feature fiction, feature documentary and short films — alongside an out-of-competition selection and a special programme.
Awards in those competitions, together with the El Gouna Green Star award and the Cinema for Humanity award, were due to be announced at the closing ceremony. Neither report names the winners.
