South Hurghada district said it had put out a fire in the El Badari area that started during tyre-repair work at a contracting company carrying out a project in the area, with sparks flying from the company's tyre-repair room.

District chief Ayman Sultan said he had instructed his assistant to respond quickly and extinguish the fire, and to coordinate with the encroachments section over a boat standing in the street, where the district has begun the legal steps for the violation.

Sultan said field patrols and daily checks of the district's areas continue, aimed at obstructions that block residents and passers-by.

The account gives no time for the fire and no detail on injuries or damage.
