The Egyptian Airports Company, an affiliate of Egypt's Civil Aviation Authority, is preparing to bring in specialized contractors to control birds and other wildlife around Hurghada International Airport, according to Egypt Independent. The company frames the move as part of broader efforts to improve flight safety and keep air traffic running smoothly at one of the Red Sea coast's two main international gateways.

Bird strikes are a recognized hazard at airports built near open desert and coastline, where birds of prey and migratory flocks cross flight paths. Specialized wildlife-control programs typically combine habitat management, deterrent systems and dedicated patrols to keep runways and approach corridors clear.
