Hurghada National Museum is highlighting a display case of everyday objects from ancient Egypt: musical instruments alongside kitchen implements, doum fruit and the tools used to keep it, the Egyptian outlet Cairo 24 reports.
The museum presents the pieces as a view of ordinary life rather than royal treasure — the practices and skills tied to daily utensils, and what they show about how ancient Egyptians cooked, ate and made music.
The display is framed as part of marking intangible cultural heritage, which covers traditions, social practices, performing arts, knowledge and skills passed down through generations. UNESCO adopted its Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage on 17 October 2003.
Cairo 24's report does not say how long the objects will stay on show, and gives no opening hours or ticket prices for the museum.
