The Hurghada Youth Cinema Festival will honour Egyptian actress Sherry Adel, according to Al-Watan, which reported that the tribute is set for 10 September. Ahram Gate reported the same honour, describing it as taking place at the festival's opening.
She is the second name the festival has announced for a tribute in this edition. Egyptian outlets including Akhbar El Yom and Sada El Balad reported in late August that actor Mostafa Khater would be honoured as the fourth edition opened — a story this site covered at the time.
The festival has also been looking back at the early work of established Egyptian screen names. Its programme included the two graduation films Karim Abdel Aziz made as a student, presented by organisers as a look at the actor's beginnings.
The reports carry no further practical detail. None of the outlets name the venue, give screening times, say whether the tribute evening is open to the public, or explain how tickets or invitations are handled. The wider competition programme and the jury are not listed either.
For residents, and for visitors in town in early September, the festival is one of the city's dated cultural fixtures, alongside the Culture Palaces workshops and the 'Art Beach' waterfront evenings this site has reported on. What the coverage so far establishes is who is being honoured and when — not where, or on what terms the public can attend.
