Jet2 Adds Hurghada to Its Flight Programme for the First Time, From Winter 2026-27

Jet2 has added 34 new routes across nine airports for the winter 2026-27 season, and Hurghada is among the brand-new destinations on the list, according to Travel Weekly.

The airline and tour operator has 6.3 million seats on sale to 42 destinations for the season — more than half a million more seats than the previous winter, the trade title reported. The new destinations are Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada in Egypt, and Strasbourg in France. The season is also Jet2's first full winter operating from London Gatwick.

"We are seeing strong demand from customers and independent travel agents for all kinds of winter holidays, so we have responded by putting a fantastic selection of brand-new routes on sale for winter 26-27," chief executive Steve Heapy said. He added that the expansion "shows how we are continuing to grow in direct response to demand".

The report does not say which UK airports will fly to Hurghada, how often, on what dates the first flights operate, or what the fares are. It also does not say whether the Hurghada flights are sold as flight-only, package holidays, or both.

For Hurghada, the significance is the operator rather than the route. Jet2 sells package holidays as well as seats, and a new destination in its winter programme generally arrives with hotel contracts behind it. Winter 2026-27 is still more than a year out, so nothing about it changes this coming season — but it is another British operator committing capacity to the Red Sea in the colder months.
