Kadmar Aims to Open the First Phase of Its Safaga Logistics Centre in Mid-2027

Kadmar Shipping Group says it is targeting mid-2027 to start operating the first phase of a logistics centre in Safaga, with bonded warehouses, a container yard and a lorry weighbridge alongside the new port.

Kadmar Shipping Group is aiming to start operating the first phase of its logistics centre in Safaga in mid-2027, the group's chairman has said.

Medhat El-Kady, head of Kadmar Group, told the business outlet Amwal Al-Ghad that the project is planned as an integrated set of logistics services for companies using Safaga port, covering storage, cargo handling and containers.

What the centre is meant to contain

  • customs (bonded) and non-customs warehouses
  • separate warehouses for general cargo and for bulk cargo
  • a container yard, with facilities for repairing and cleaning containers
  • a weighbridge for lorries
  • an administrative building for customer service, plus service facilities and restaurants for staff and port users

El-Kady said the spread of services is meant to serve exporters, importers and shipping lines through one linked system, from receiving and storing goods through to preparing shipments for transport and export.

He described the centre as complementing the new Safaga port by filling in the support services around it, and said it is intended to help producers and exporters in Upper Egypt and the Red Sea region reach foreign markets through Safaga.

"We have begun work on the project at full strength, and we are working to speed up the first phase to meet the requests we are receiving from clients and shipping lines," El-Kady said.

This is the company's own target rather than a facility already built. The published statements give no investment figure, no number of jobs and no firm opening date beyond the mid-2027 aim.
