Light rain with thunder possible in the Red Sea Governorate on Saturday

Showers with occasional thunder are possible across the governorate, and the authority puts the chance of moderate rain at 30 percent around Halayeb, Shalatin and Ras Banas.

24 October 2026

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority expects light rain, with occasional thunder, over parts of the Red Sea Governorate on Saturday, 24 October.

In the far south, the authority puts the chance of moderate rainfall at 30 percent around Halayeb, Shalatin, Ras Banas and the southern Eastern Desert, and says showers there may reach parts of Aswan Governorate.

Daytime weather is slightly hot in the north of the country and hotter in the south, turning cooler overnight and in the early morning.

Satellite observations show wind of 30 to 40 kilometres an hour over Greater Cairo, the north-eastern coasts, Lower Egypt and South Sinai. The authority says those winds may stir up sand and dust around Halayeb, Shalatin, the southern Eastern Desert and the far south of Upper Egypt.

It advised people to take the necessary precautions and to follow its later bulletins.
