Marsa Alam city has handed four land-tenure legalisation contracts to residents of Sheikh El-Shazly village, the city council said, as part of the continuing effort to settle occupancy files on state land.
Maj. Gen. Dr Yasser Mohanna El-Domeini, head of Marsa Alam city, gave out the contracts at the local unit headquarters. The council said the step follows instructions from Red Sea governor Walid El-Barqi to speed up legalisation procedures and give residents legal and social stability, while preserving the rights of both the state and citizens.
El-Domeini said the local unit is continuing to follow up tenure files and to ease procedures for residents who have met the legal conditions, so that completed files can be closed.
The announcement covers four contracts in one village. It does not say how many files remain open in Marsa Alam, what the conditions or fees are, or whether there is a deadline for residents to apply.
