Residents of Marsa Alam can take complaints and requests directly to the head of the city every Wednesday at the local unit headquarters, the city council has said.
Maj. Gen. Dr Yasser Mohanna El-Domeini, head of Marsa Alam city, held one of these open meetings at the local unit this week, hearing residents' complaints and demands and going through the list of requests compiled by the citizens' service department.
El-Domeini said the meeting will continue to be held on Wednesday of every week at the local unit headquarters, and instructed departments to examine complaints quickly and take the necessary steps under the rules in force. He said the local unit studies residents' demands and works to meet them within the means available.
The council describes the meetings as following the instructions of Red Sea governor Walid El-Barqi on direct contact with residents and on identifying their needs and problems.
The announcement does not give a time of day for the meeting or a telephone number for the citizens' service department.
