Menzies Aviation Opens a Third Pearl Lounge at Hurghada Airport

Hurghada International Airport has gained another passenger lounge. Menzies Aviation has opened a third Pearl Lounge at the airport, the company's 24th in Egypt, according to Passenger Terminal Today.

Menzies Aviation is one of the larger aviation services groups operating in Egypt, handling ground operations and passenger services at airports around the country. Its Pearl Lounge network has been expanding steadily; the Hurghada opening takes the national count to two dozen sites.

For passengers, a third lounge at Hurghada is a capacity story more than a luxury one. The airport is among Egypt's busiest for European charter and low-cost traffic, and departure halls there fill up when several holiday flights are scheduled inside the same window. More lounge seats mean more places to sit out a long wait away from the main concourse.

The report leaves the practical questions open. It does not say which terminal the new lounge sits in, how large it is or how many passengers it seats. There is no opening date, no walk-up price for pay-on-the-day access, and no list of which airlines, cards or memberships include entry.

The opening comes during a busy stretch for Hurghada's airport more broadly. This site has followed the governorate's process to bring in a private operator to run the airport, including Orascom Investment Holding's withdrawal from that race, and the aviation ministry's plan to open the management tender to a field of alliances.
