The technical committee responsible for surveying and valuing land in Red Sea Governorate has approved proposals setting the prices at which vacant land may be disposed of in a number of Hurghada subdivisions and areas, Sada El Balad reports.
The step is part of a review of earlier valuations and an update of land prices under the rules that govern the committee's work.
The papers include the minutes of the committee meeting on land allocated to subdivisions in Hurghada. They rest on recommendations that land prices be valued again once more than six months have passed since the previous valuation.
The valuation tables cover areas and subdivisions including El Belal, El Qiyadat, the northern mountain, El Zohour, El Shohadaa Mubarak, El Mina, El Dahar and El Ahyaa, along with other areas inside Hurghada city.
The tables also split the proposed prices by the nature of the street and the position of the plot, separating main streets, side streets and the remaining subdivisions, and set different values for some roads, axes and residential areas.
The report describes the prices as proposals and gives no figures, so the rate for a square metre in each area is not known from it.
