Red Sea Governorate Expects Its Digital System to Start Running in Early 2027, Across All Cities and Districts

Deputy governor Magda Hanna says the governorate's digital platform is expected to begin actual operation at the start of 2027, covering the main offices and every city, district, local unit and service directorate. Two parts are already handling real paperwork, with more than 114 transactions processed between 19 and 22 October.

The Red Sea Governorate expects its digital administration system to begin actual operation at the start of 2027, deputy governor Dr Magda Hanna told a meeting reviewing the project, Al-Nahar Egypt reported. The start would cover the governorate's main offices and all of its cities, districts, local units and service directorates.

Parts of the system are already handling real paperwork. The administrative decisions system and the system for incoming external correspondence are in operation, and the task and meeting management system in the deputy governor's office has been fully activated.

What the progress report recorded, 19 to 22 October

  • More than 114 real transactions processed
  • 18 electronic accounts prepared and tested
  • 10 computers connected to the internal network
  • Administrative teams trained on four core systems

The governorate is running the plan with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the report said coordination continues directly with Huawei to keep the operating environment stable. A second phase of operation is being prepared, with coordination meetings planned with the environment, tourism, legal affairs, personnel and electronic portal departments.

Hanna presented the update on behalf of Governor Dr Walid El-Barqi. Early 2027 is the expected start stated at that meeting rather than an announced launch date, and the report does not say which counter services residents would use online first.
