Safaga Port Takes In 30,000 Tonnes of Indonesian Aluminium
A 30,000-tonne aluminium shipment from Indonesia has been unloaded at Safaga Port, which handled 40,000 tonnes of cargo in total, Egyptian outlets report.

A shipment of 30,000 tonnes of aluminium arriving from Indonesia has been received at Safaga Port, according to Al-Bawaba News and the Akhbar El-Yom news portal, with the Indonesian origin of the cargo reported by the news site po-news-eg.
Akhbar El-Yom reported that the port handled 40,000 tonnes of goods alongside the aluminium shipment's arrival. The report did not specify the period that total covers.

Safaga is the working cargo port of the Red Sea coast, and its traffic runs in both directions: raw materials and industrial cargo in, mined commodities out. This site has previously reported a 53,000-tonne phosphate shipment leaving the same port for Vietnam — the export side of the same quays now taking in metal.
The reports named no consignee for the aluminium, gave no onward destination inside Egypt, and put no value on the cargo.
For Safaga residents, port throughput is the quieter half of the town's economy, the part that is not tourism: berth work, haulage and the jobs attached to them. For visitors, the practical note is that the commercial quays are an operating industrial port rather than a place to visit — the coast's diving and resort activity sits apart from them.
