Sahl Hasheesh Is Preparing 4,000 More Hotel Rooms on Top of 6,000, With the First Phase Starting Within Two Months

Sahl Hasheesh already has more than 6,000 hotel rooms, and the company that developed it is preparing more than 4,000 more — with the first phase due to begin within two months of its 2 October shareholders' meeting.

The figures come from Egyptian Resorts Company's ordinary general meeting, reported by the Egyptian outlet Elnabaa on 4 October and relayed by the German financial site AD HOC NEWS. The rooms are to open in stages rather than all at once. No individual hotels, operators or opening dates were given.

At the same meeting, held on 2 October, shareholders approved the company's 2025 financial statements and kept the existing board in place. A proposal to remove the board and open nominations for a new one was rejected by a majority of the votes present, according to Elnabaa. Shareholders representing 85.64 percent of the shares present attended.

Egyptian Resorts Company describes itself as a developer of integrated communities — land, infrastructure, community management and services for residential, hotel and entertainment projects — with Sahl Hasheesh as its flagship destination. Its shares closed at EGP 16.350 on the Egyptian Exchange on 7 October, giving a market capitalisation of EGP 17.2 billion, 27.9 percent below the 52-week high of EGP 22.690.

One figure does not line up with earlier reporting. The 6,000-room count is higher than the roughly 4,000 rooms a UK tour operator cited for Sahl Hasheesh at the start of October, covered on this site on 3 October. The two counts may be measuring different things — rooms built against rooms trading, for instance — but neither source reconciles them.

For residents and for anyone with a booking in Sahl Hasheesh, the practical consequence is building work: a pipeline of more than 4,000 rooms opening in phases, with the first of them starting before the end of the year on the company's own stated timetable.
