South Hurghada District said it removed the wooden formwork erected for the columns of an unauthorised sixth floor in the El Nasr area, during a morning field round against building violations and digging without a permit. The removal covered 200 square metres, according to the district.

In the Arabiya area, the district said excavation and road-cutting work was halted until the permit for the works is produced and reviewed, with instructions to restore the site to its original state.

Ayman Sultan, the head of South Hurghada District, said field monitoring and periodic inspections would continue across the district's areas. He assigned his assistant and the planning and encroachments department, working with the facilities police, to examine the violations and take legal steps against those responsible.
