Three Scrap Yards Sealed Shut Inside Hurghada's Abu Ashara and Sheikh Shehat Neighbourhoods

South Hurghada district has closed three scrap warehouses operating in breach of the rules in residential streets, according to Ahram Gate and Veto.

1 October 2026

South Hurghada district has closed and sealed three scrap warehouses found to be operating in breach of the rules, in the Abu Ashara and Sheikh Shehat neighbourhoods, according to Ahram Gate.

Veto reports that the three stores were inside the residential block and were sealed on the spot.

Neither outlet names the owners, says how long the yards had been trading, or explains what happens to the material left on the sites.

The closures come in a run of enforcement across the city: two Hurghada cafés and a supermarket in Arabia were sealed shut this week for trading without a licence, and 220 square metres of unlicensed rooftop rooms were pulled down in the same district a few days earlier.
