Travel Expo Red Sea Comes to Hurghada for the First Time, With AI Room Pricing Top of the Agenda
The trade fair has moved to Hurghada after two editions in Cairo, and its programme is built around hotels using AI and revenue-management tools to price rooms by demand rather than a fixed annual rate.

Travel Expo Red Sea opened in Hurghada on Tuesday for the first time, after two previous editions held in Cairo, according to the trade outlet Tourism Daily News.
The fair brings together general managers and marketing directors from the Red Sea's larger hotels and resorts alongside representatives of tour operators and technology companies, the outlet reported. Its programme is built around hospitality technology, with strands covering:
- integrating artificial intelligence and digital transformation inside hotels and resorts
- workshops on sales and digital marketing
- sessions on revenue and yield management
Room pricing is the thread running through all of it. Revenue-management tools let a hotel adjust its rates according to demand, the season and the target market instead of quoting one fixed price for a room all year, Tourism Daily News reported. The outlet described the effect as shifting the contest in Hurghada from simply attracting the tourist to managing every pound the tourist spends once they are here.
Tourism experts quoted by the outlet said technology had contributed to the current jump in occupancy rates at Red Sea hotels and resorts, as bookings move increasingly through digital channels.
What the expo has not published is a single actual price. Tourism Daily News noted explicitly that the event's material contains no specific room rates or package prices. No attendance figure or closing date was given either.
For visitors, the practical consequence of demand-based pricing is that the same room can carry a different price from one week to the next. The demand those tools are built to read is real enough: Hurghada hotels were expecting 85–90% occupancy in October, and Hurghada airport is forecasting 100–120 flights a day this winter with bookings already past 80% through December.
