Two Sisters Found Living in a Hurghada Park Have Been Placed in Care
The girls, aged eight and nine, were moved to a social care home after an Interior Ministry investigation confirmed their mother is serving a prison sentence and neither father could be found.

Two young sisters who were filmed living in a public park in Hurghada have been placed in a social care home, the Interior Ministry said on Monday — the resolution of a case that drew wide sympathy after a video of the girls spread on social media.
What the investigation found
The video showed the two children sitting alone in a public garden, with the claim that they had been living on the street since their mother went to prison. The ministry said its investigation confirmed the core of that account:
- The sisters are nine and eight years old and lived in the area covered by Hurghada's second police district.
- They share a mother but have different fathers. Their mother, a housewife, is serving a six-month prison sentence in two cases.
- Neither father could be located, leaving the girls without a guardian.
Where they are now
Working with the competent authorities, police completed the legal procedures and moved both girls into a social care home, where the ministry says they will receive proper care and protection.
The placement follows the Ministry of Social Solidarity's intervention reported earlier, when officials were ordered to provide urgent help for the two children. Authorities have not published the girls' names, and this site is not identifying them or their family.
