An evening inspection round through El Quseir's shops and food businesses recorded two flour stores operating without a licence and three unlicensed shops, along with one citation for failing cleanliness requirements, Sada El-Balad reported. Two official reports were filed over the flour stores.
Inspectors went through supermarkets, cafeterias, bakeries, restaurants and shops selling fish, food and drink, checking health and legal requirements.

The round was followed by El Quseir city chief Maj. Gen. Ahmed Saqr, acting on the directives of Red Sea Governor Walid El-Barki. Saqr instructed the departments concerned to take the necessary legal steps over the violations found, and said monitoring of food and drink shops, restaurants and bakeries would continue in all parts of the city.
The report did not say whether any premises were closed, what penalties the unlicensed businesses face, or where in the city they are. No business was named.
