How long it really takes
Eight to nine hours, with most of it spent on the beach rather than the boat.
These are developed beach destinations on the Giftun islands, with facilities, food and a lot of loungers. They are what many people picture when they book a Red Sea holiday, and they deliver that picture reliably.
The snorkelling is secondary and usually a single stop. If reef is your priority, a standard Giftun trip with more stops is a better use of the day.
They are busiest at midday when every boat has arrived. Trips that leave earlier, or operators with their own quieter mooring, make a noticeable difference.
Is it worth it?
Yes for families and for anyone who wants a beach day rather than a snorkelling day. It does exactly what it says.

- Crowds bother you — this is the busiest thing on the water here
What it costs, and how
Priced above a standard Giftun trip because of the beach entry. Food and drink on the island are expensive; check what your ticket actually covers.
Watch out for
- Beach entry fees and marine park fees are separate things and both may be extra.
- There is very little natural shade. Book a lounger with an umbrella or bring cover.
