Makadi Bay
A smaller, calmer alternative to the big spots — fine for learning and for a hotel-based week, not a destination in itself.

- North to north-west, side-onshore in most of the bay.

- Hotel-run centres along the bay. Space and access depend entirely on where you stay.
Makadi is not a kite destination and does not pretend to be, but it has usable wind and a couple of competent centres, which makes it a reasonable option if the rest of your party chose the bay for other reasons.
If kitesurfing is the point of the trip, Soma Bay is about twenty to thirty minutes away and El Gouna about an hour — both considerably better.
Suits
- Families where one person kites and the rest want a water park
- Learners who are already staying in the bay
- Short sessions rather than a dedicated kite holiday
Hazards
- Reef. The bay has coral close in, and where the sand ends matters — ask the local centre exactly where, every time.
- Space is limited compared with El Gouna or Soma, so a busy day fills quickly.
