The outlet describes a dressing-room scene in which the FIFA World Cup trophy sits in a bin alongside rubbish, near the Arabic word "toz" — meaning "whatever" or "who cares" — as fans reject what they saw as the tournament's injustice.
Egyptian Streets reports the anger stemmed from Egypt's 3-2 loss to Argentina on 7 July, after a spectacular Egyptian goal in the 58th minute was disallowed following a VAR review. According to the outlet, footballer Mostafa Ziko said in a post-match interview that the team had been wronged, while former England player Alan Shearer also criticised the decision.
