Night photograph of water and wet silt spread across a desert road, with vehicle lights in the distance and stones along the edge. Published by the outlet with its report on the Wadi El-Ghadir flows; the exact location is not independently confirmed.

Flood water ran down Wadi El-Ghadir at kilometre 30 of the Marsa Alam–Shalatin road, in the Berenice area south of Marsa Alam, during the early hours of Wednesday.

The governorate's emergency control centre said the water first moved towards the sea in small amounts without blocking traffic, then increased, and crews were sent out.

The Marsa Alam traffic unit was asked to put warning cones on the road in both directions, and a Civil Protection team arrived with a pump. An official responsible for crisis management at the local unit went to the site.

Authorities in the south of the governorate are continuing to watch the weather and the wadi channels for further flows, with precautions focused on mountain stretches and the points where wadis cross roads.

Drivers on the southern roads were urged to take care, to follow instructions from traffic officers, and not to risk driving through flood channels or standing water if flows return.
