Heavy rain fell on Halayeb in the far south of the Red Sea Governorate on 6 November, reaching flood level in some mountain valleys, according to the governorate.

The head of Halayeb city reported flooding in Wadi El Shallal at the entrance to the town. A Water Resources Research Institute report cited by the governorate puts the chance of rain of varying intensity, which could be heavy, over the Halayeb and Shalatin areas between 6 and 8 November.

The governorate said Governor Walid El-Barqi has put all executive bodies on the highest state of readiness. It asked residents to keep away from flood channels, valleys and places where water collects, and not to risk crossing roads affected by the rain.
