Red Sea Governor Walid El-Barghi has raised readiness and emergency levels in Halayeb and Shalatin, citing Egyptian Meteorological Authority forecasts that rain could fall on parts of the area.

Executive bodies and the local units in both towns were told to take precautionary measures, keep rapid-response teams and equipment ready, and step up round-the-clock field monitoring for rainwater pooling and other effects of bad weather.

The governorate said it is following the authority's reports as they come in, and it asked residents to take care and stick to the instructions issued by the competent authorities while unsettled weather is forecast for some areas.
