Hurghada Airport Is Fitting Out a Transit Hall for Air Cairo Connecting Flights
The head of the Egyptian Airports Company went through Hurghada's transit hall and passenger routes with Air Cairo's chairman, ahead of the airline running connecting flights through the airport. No start date or routes were given.

Hurghada International Airport is being prepared to handle connecting passengers for Air Cairo, with the airline's planned transit flights the subject of an inspection visit by Captain Wael El-Nashar, chairman and managing director of the Egyptian Airports Company, according to Youm7, Sada El-Balad and the Akhbar Al-Youm portal.
El-Nashar was accompanied by Hussein Sherif, chairman of Air Cairo. The two went through the transit hall and its equipment, the routes passengers take through the terminal and the operating procedures for moving between flights, which the reports say is meant to keep transfers moving smoothly.
The visit also covered construction work on the expansion of the domestic terminal and the progress of works in the passenger buildings, along with the regularity of day-to-day operations and the level of service passengers receive.
The airports company casts the work as raising operational efficiency across Egyptian airports and strengthening Hurghada's role as a hub that links different destinations, rather than only an endpoint for holiday flights.
None of the reports say when the transit flights begin, which routes they would connect, or how many are planned.
For now, almost everything landing here is point-to-point: charters and scheduled flights from Europe that go home again. A working transit operation at Hurghada would put connections through this airport rather than through Cairo — which is also why the terminal work matters, as seven consortia line up to bid for running the airport, as this site reported.
