Hurghada International Airport handled about 67,000 passengers in one day last Saturday, its highest daily total on record, according to figures from the Egyptian Airports Company.
Arrivals and departures were each put at 33,500. That is 24.1 percent more arrivals and 13 percent more departures than on the previous record day, 1 November 2025, when 56,641 passengers passed through.
Aircraft movements reached 389 takeoffs and landings, against 358 on that earlier date.
Wael al-Nashar, chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company, attributed the figures to coordination between airport departments, and said processing arrangements and staff readiness kept flight schedules running without interruption while safety and security checks were maintained.
The day fell at the start of Egypt's winter season, when charter and scheduled flights to Red Sea resorts are at their heaviest.
