Wizz Air has begun flying between Sofia and Hurghada three times a week, giving Bulgaria a direct link to the Red Sea coast.

The route opened on 27 October, at the start of the airline's Bulgarian winter season. Flights operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Seats are sold through Wizz Air's own website and mobile app, with lead-in fares reported at €29.99.

The same winter launch added a twice-weekly Varna–Basel service and brought back Sofia–Marrakech, neither of them serving this coast.
