Hurghada International Airport handled 389 take-offs and landings on Saturday 31 October, the highest daily total since the airport opened, the Civil Aviation Ministry said.

That is 31 movements more than the previous record of 358, set on 1 November 2025, a rise of 8.7%.

Passenger numbers reached about 67,000 over the day, against 56,641 on the previous record day — 10,359 more, or 18.3%. Arrivals and departures were each put at about 33,500.

Both growth rates — 24.1% for arrivals and 13% for departures — are measured against that same record day in November 2025.

Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny said the figures reflect rising demand from international markets for Egypt's tourist cities, particularly with the start of the winter season.

Wael El-Nashar, chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company, said continuous coordination between the bodies working at the airport and raised readiness among staff teams help keep flights running to schedule and speed up arrival and departure formalities.
