Nine New German Teachers Found for Red Sea Schools, With Online Language Lessons Next
The Red Sea education directorate says it closed a German-teacher shortage with nine new appointments through community partnerships, and is preparing online French and German lessons for a governorate whose towns sit far apart.

Red Sea schools have taken on nine new German-language teachers, closing a shortage the governorate's education directorate describes as one of its most pressing problems, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm.
Dr Ashraf El-Araby, the Ministry of Education's undersecretary for the Red Sea, told a briefing with local journalists that the directorate found the teachers by working through community partnerships and civil-society institutions in the governorate. They have been placed in schools according to actual need, he said, while taking the teachers' own preferences into account — the aim being a real distribution that leaves schools stable, not simply a head count.
German carries more weight here than the national average. Demand for language schools and so-called distinguished education is high in a governorate whose hotels serve large numbers of German-speaking visitors, and El-Araby tied the directorate's forward plan directly to that economy: Hurghada and the governorate's other cities are among Egypt's most important tourist destinations, he said, and students' skills have to match what that labour market asks for.
Online teaching is the next step. El-Araby said virtual lessons are being prepared with the supervisors of second languages — French and German first — to offset the governorate's geography, where towns are spread along a long coast and some specialisms exist in only a handful of schools. He also announced a planned language development centre under the directorate's gifted-students department, to identify and train students with an aptitude for languages, and said the directorate intends to add further foreign languages to those taught now.
El-Araby also pointed to the school discipline code as a pillar of the coming stage, and said instructions have gone out to set aside one minute of each morning assembly, alongside the flag salute, for talk about the country and belonging.
The report gives no timetable for the online lessons or the language centre, and does not say how many German teachers the governorate is still short of.
