EgyptAir has started operating special flights connecting Algeria and Italy directly to Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh, according to Masrawy, Dar Al-Hilal, the National Media Authority and Tourism Daily News, which each reported the new service this week.

Ahram Online, reporting separately, said EgyptAir now operates 26 direct flights from Algeria to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada. It was not clear from the report whether that figure covers a week, a month or the full summer season.

For Hurghada, the new links add direct access from two markets — Algeria and Italy — that previously often required a connection through Cairo or another hub. The Red Sea coast has seen a run of new international routes announced this summer as hotels report high occupancy.

None of the sources gave a launch date, weekly flight frequency, aircraft type, ticket prices, or which airports in Algeria and Italy are served by the new routes.
