Hurghada Hosts Four Triathlon Championships From 9 to 11 October
The Egyptian, Arab and African Triathlon Federation says four championships come to Hurghada next month, with international federation figures attending.

Hurghada will host four triathlon championships from 9 to 11 October, according to Maj. Gen. Ahmed Nasser, founder and president of the Egyptian, Arab and African Triathlon Federation, speaking to Kas News.
Maj. Gen. Khaled Fouda, the presidential adviser for local development and a former governor of South Sinai, chairs the championships' supreme committee - support Nasser called important for the event.
Nasser said the Hurghada championships will draw a number of international and continental sporting figures, among them the president of the International Triathlon Union, the president of the Asian federation and the secretary-general of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation.
He set the events against the federation's work earlier in the year, when it ran the Africa Cup and the Arab Cup for triathlon, aquathlon and duathlon in Galala on the Red Sea in March - the first international championship held in that city.
Separately, Ahram Gate reported that Hurghada is hosting Oceanman and a water sports festival with about 1,000 athletes taking part.
The report does not give venues, a schedule by day, entry details for competitors, or whether spectators can watch free.
October is turning into a busy month on the water here. El Gouna's own water sports festival runs to 26 September, and the triathlon weekend lands a fortnight later, at the point when the winter season and its hotel occupancy are both expected to climb.
