The British travel group Jet2 intends to start direct flights to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh from several British cities in February 2027, according to a report on Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy's meetings at the WTM London 2026 travel fair.

The same report lists meetings with EasyJet Holidays, DER Touristik and TUI, and names Manchester and Nice to Sphinx International Airport, and Lyon to Luxor, as other routes under discussion.

Departure cities, a schedule, an on-sale date and fares have not been published, and the report describes the flights as an intention rather than a confirmed programme. It also says an unnamed group intends to build a resort in Hurghada.
