An official source says there is no shortage of fuel at stations in El Quseir, Marsa Alam and Shalatin, and that further petroleum supplies are on their way to the three Red Sea towns.

The source, who was not named, told Cairo 24 that large quantities are available, including diesel and 92 and 95 petrol, and that the additional deliveries are meant to keep supplies regular.

The comments answer what the outlet describes as circulating reports of a worsening shortage of petroleum products in several Red Sea cities, with El Quseir, Marsa Alam and Shalatin named first among them.

Shalatin and Marsa Alam each have six filling stations and El Quseir has five, according to the source, operating under Misr Petroleum, Al-Taawen, Al-Nil and Petromin.

No date was given for the extra deliveries to arrive, and the account rests on a single unnamed source rather than a published statement from the fuel companies or the governorate.
