Polish travellers were the largest group arriving at Marsa Alam International Airport in the first ten months of 2026, at 487,474 tourists, about 39.6 per cent of all arrivals, according to a report by the Red Sea Chamber of Tourism Companies.
The report puts total arrivals at 1,229,572 tourists on 7,374 flights between January and October. Czech travellers came second with 232,183, followed by Germans with 207,697 and Italians with 186,828 — four markets that together account for more than 90 per cent of the airport's arrivals.
Smaller numbers arrived from Hungary (24,251), the Netherlands (23,968), Austria (17,442), Belgium (16,902) and Slovakia (13,846), with England at 2,646 and Turkey at 2,395.
October was the busiest month in the period, with 145,332 arrivals on 850 flights. The chamber's head, Sayed El-Gabry, said the airport's arrivals map shows Marsa Alam still relies heavily on European markets, with Poland in front.
Landing, parking and aircraft-housing fees at the airport were reduced during November under an initiative intended to encourage airlines to add flights, the tourism specialist Hatem Kamel said.
