Medium to heavy rain fell on El Quseir, Halayeb and Shalatin on Sunday, and the governorate has again asked people in mountainous areas to keep away from flood channels.

The chance of rain continues on Monday over the southern Eastern Desert and into parts of the central desert, including the Red Sea mountain ranges and the Halayeb and Shalatin area, the Water Resources Research Institute said in its daily report.

Medium to heavy rain fell on El Quseir, Halayeb and Shalatin on Sunday, during unsettled weather across the south-east of the country.

The same report expected heavy rain over the southern Eastern Desert and the southern Red Sea coast, particularly around Halayeb and Shalatin, alongside Aswan and Kom Ombo, with lighter rain over the northern Eastern Desert and South Sinai.

Red Sea Governorate asked people to take care while the weather is unsettled, especially in mountainous areas and wadis, and to keep away from flood channels.
